We Are The Champions!

Another round of hearty congrats go out to our Bulls for winning their first Triple-A National Championship last night in Oklahoma City.

They won in the bottom of the 11th inning on a wild pitch by their opponent, Pacific Coast League champion Memphis Redbirds.

As they had all playoffs, the Bulls made good use of clutch pitching from the bullpen and timely hits to come out with an extra-innings win.

It's the team's first Triple-A national title. But consider this litany of success since the team was bumped up to Triple-A 12 years ago: nine post-season appearances, eight division titles, seven appearances in the Governors' Cup Finals, three Governors' Cups and one National Championship.

Pretty stellar record. Go Bulls! What a way to end a great year.

An added bonus: The game was televised nationally on ESPN2, great exposure for our home team.

Can't wait for next season.

Bulls Win! Bulls Win! Bulls Win!

Congrats to our beloved Bulls for winning the World Series of the Minor Leagues, the Governors' Cup.

They won in the 12th inning after John Jaso doubled to bring in Elliot Johnson for the go-ahead run. Pitcher Julia DePaula closed out the game on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees' home field.

The Bulls were down 2-0 in the eighth when Desmond Jennings drove in Justin Ruggiano and Johnson.

Bulls pitcher Joe Nelson got two quick outs in the bottom of the eighth before walking three straight batters to load the bases. Heath Rollins came in in relief and got the last out.

It's the Bulls' first league title since 2003.

Congrats to the hometown team!
