| NEWS & SPECIAL UPDATES • UNIVERSITY EVENTS • NCCUAA CHAPTER MEETINGS | | | Lauren Pinckney, a junior in the NCCU School of Business, recently received the Clarence J. Jupiter Fellowship in Institutional Advancement Award. The Jupiter Fellowship is given by the Council of Advancement in Support of Education (CASE) and gives recipients hands-on advancement training in one of three areas alumni relations, communications and marketing or philanthropy. Lauren currently serves as president of the NCCU Pre-Alumni Club and was instrumental in completing the bylaws and constitution for the club. Under her leadership, the Pre-Alumni Club had an extremely successful launch, resulting in nearly 100 members within the first two months. The Pre-Alumni Club received the Outstanding New Student Organization award for the 2010-2011 academic year. Lauren will continue to assist the Office of Alumni Relations in strengthening the pre-alumni club to ensure that each student is connected and invested in the university.
