Jamie L. Patterson of Subject 2 Change Judges Duke University Kid's "BIZ CAMP" Competition

On Saturday June 25, Jamie Patterson of Subject 2 Change had the extreme honor of judging the 2011 Duke University Kid's BIZ Camp Competition at the Fuqua School of Business.

The Business camp is Sponsored by;
• Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE)
• The Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP)
• The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University

Students in the Next Generation Venture Fund program attended a week-long BizCamp as part of their NGVF experience. In the BizCamp, NGVF students take part in an intensive NFTE entrepreneurship experience with NFTE’s master trainers as teachers, learning all of the key aspects of business planning and completing business plans based on their own original ideas in groups of five.

Ninety students in this year’s BizCamp were divided into four classrooms. Each classroom divided into groups of 4-5 students. The classrooms held four simultaneous business plan competitions: one in each classroom – where the groups will present their completed business plans in their groups before a panel of distinguished judges.

Perrine A. DeShield as s2c New Production Assistant

Perrine A. DeShield will serve as our Production Assistant! Perrine will help jump-start our company's transition from still photography to videography.

A few words from Perrine.

"Lights, camera, action!" It’s amazing how a few words can ignite excitement. As a 2010 graduate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies/broadcast journalism, the art of television was always a love of mine. Being the youngest of six, taking away the remote control was an easy way to grab my attention and only expanded my curiosity and fascination with television.

At UNC-Chapel Hill I stayed involved in a variety of organizations ranging from broadcast (UNC Student Television, Carolina Week) to spreading diversity within the community (NCCJ, UNC Housing Department). I also expanded on my other passion for fashion as an undergraduate by designing and styling (Concept of Colors) and also creating and producing a TV show about individuality and style (Carolina Style).

During my internships, I received valuable hands-on experience in writing, producing, editing and technical production. The experiences broadened my outlook on both news and entertainment television and my writing skills and editing knowledge now expands beyond what I gained from my undergraduate career.

I honestly feel that any and every one can look like a million bucks by only spending about $20 and I love sharing my eclectic taste on fashion and music with the help of social networking (Facebook, Twitter & blogging). I also enjoy staying active and exploring my surroundings.

I am currently living in Greensboro, NC and working towards my goal of becoming a television producer by writing, applying myself and networking.
